Askari X Sessions #1

Raised on the same street the Black Panther Party marched, Askari X raised in Oakland CA, was destined to be a warrior. Labeled as 'crazy' as a youth, Rickey Murdock was a product of violence, oppression, and the realites of Oakland Ca. Askari's released material at the age of 16 with the Righteous Black Guerrillas (RBGz). This was the first time "RBG" was coined on a record, which today has grown as a reflection of the Afrikan Liberation Movement as birthed by the Honorable Marcus Garvey. With a mix of Islam, Politics, and Black Liberation, Askari X quickly became a problem for Oakland Police, the State and the Government; joining others as Tupac, and Public Enemy as a voice of Afrikan Liberation against oppression. Askari X has been a major influence on continuing the legacy of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, and has insirped other many other artists, namely Dead Prez. Dead Prez were granted permission by Askari X for the use of RBG on records. The state has consistenly kidnapped our brother and put him in the Hells of Amerikkka (Prison), and he has been in and out of Incarceration his whole life, reflecting as a hip hop political prisoner. Askari currently resides in SF County, and RFT has reconnected with this important warrior and speaks with him in this first installment of the Askari Sessions. Salute. Free Askari , Free Em All !
